Real Staffing is currently looking for an R&D Scientist for one of its clients based in Walloon Brabant. You will work in a bioassay development lab

The Bioassay Development Lab

The main scope of the Bioassay Development Lab is to develop, validate and transfer analytical methods (such as ligand binding/cell-based assays) that will be used in a Quality Control environment to assess the activity of the drugs.

The project:

  • 9 month contract organized in the laboratory of Bioassay Development (Analytical Development Sciences for Biologicals).
  • Project would ideally start in early April 2019
  • Develop/validate relative potency assays (binding and/or cell-based) that could be used to assess the activity of the drugs (relative potency assay)
  • Increase the throughput of methods by the mean of assay ready cells/automation
  • Contribute to the implementation of new technologies when appropriate


We are looking for a candidate with a background in Biology/Biomedical Sciences/immunology or equivalent with:

  • A good experience in ELISA and cell-based assay (Molecular Biology/Cell Biology)
  • A proven experience in cell culture (transformed cell lines adherent/suspension)
  • Good Knowledge of GMP rules as good documentation practices (lab notebook) and data integrity is key for the activity

  • A previous experience in cell-based bioassay development is a plus
  • A good knowledge in statistics is a plus
  • A good level of English is recommended for reports and oral communication
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Ability to work in autonomy with a team of engaged analysts and scientists

Major accountabilities:

The main activities for this function are:

  • Perform daily laboratory activities related to method development and validation
  • Provide a technical support to the various projects within the Bioassay group
  • Provide high quality documentation (Lab notebook)of all technical work performed in the lab
  • Verify data (data check, lab notebook double check)
  • Participate to the result analysis and trending
  • Participate to the edition/review of analytical methods developed in the laboratory
  • Present/discuss results in team meetings
