Our client is an international Medical Devices and Pharmaceutical company. Part of a larger family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies. They have an exciting opportunity for a Managing Director to lead tone of the diagnostics companies with excellent strategic and commercial skills to lead the entity to fulfil its short and long term objectives. The role holder will also have responsibility for business development and commercial management.

Key Responsibilities

Overall accountability for the legal entity with full P&L responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • As Managing Director you will define and establish strategic direction for the organisation
  • Oversee execution of the US based entities providing manufacturing and R&D services
  • Identify, pursue, and execute business development opportunities that progress the technology in the wider market
  • The Managing Director will be primary contact for customer strategic discussions, including development and enforcement of business critical documentation, including supply agreements and licensing agreements
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement of agreed strategic goals
  • Anticipate and analyse problematic situations and occurrences, and provide effective solutions
  • The Managing Director will build and maintain trust relationships with key stakeholders such as, business partners, clients, and authorities
  • Oversee the company's financial performance, investments and other business ventures
  • Champion and strengthen the business profile through targeted public speaker and public relations activities

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable history of success in a Managing Director, business leader or similar role within medical devices or pharmaceutical sector
  • BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field; MSc/MA will be preferred or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience of developing and effectively implementing strategic business plans
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant markets and internal and external forces that influence company performance
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance measures, and ability to actively and practically apply and execute this knowledge in day to day operations
  • Excellent organisational, communication and influencing skills, ideally gained in a global business environment
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, with extensive experience of complex problem solving and effective decision making
  • Strong financial acumen, and planning and forecasting skills
  • Outcome driven, proactive approach
